Clothing lifespan ratings are not standardised. Factors like fabric type, construction quality, and usage patterns can significantly impact a garment's lifespan.

With data collected from our repair department, we can provide a general indication of a garment's average lifespan until it is deemed no longer repairable. We have provided a general guide on each specific product.

We offer a free repair service to extend the life of your garment. This service is active in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, and Ireland.

All Kaiwaka garments come with an unconditional 6-month warranty against faulty fabrics and workmanship. If you encounter any such issues with your garment, we will replace it free of charge at our discretion. If we choose to repair your Kaiwaka garment, it will be done free of charge, provided it falls within the scope of our repair policy.

Coverage Details:

  • Manufacturer's Guarantee (less than 6 months old): If your garment is found to have a manufacturing defect within the first six months of purchase, it will be covered under our manufacturer's guarantee. We will repair or replace the garment at our discretion, free of charge.
  • Lifetime Warranty: We offer a lifetime repair service for our garments. This means that if your garment ever fails due to a manufacturing defect, even after extended use, we will repair it, at our discretion, without charge. Refer to our repair policy for more information.

To properly care for Kaiwaka garments, which includes items like the Stormforce range, follow these general guidelines: Hand or machine wash up to 40°C/104°F (max). Do not dry clean, tumble dry or iron. Do not spin - Drip dry only. Do not use bleach or detergent. Do not store garments away damp.

Generally speaking, Kaiwaka garments are on the generous side, particularly the outer layer options - such as Parka's. We have already allowed enough 'room' to accommodate the additional clothing layers you may wear underneath, you do not need to buy a size larger. We have included size guides on each product page.

Shipping & Returns

For local orders, please allow 2-3 working days for most urban addresses. And allow an extra 2 days for rural delivery. For international orders please allow up to 2 weeks.

Yes, we do have the ability to ship products to rural locations. Please allow an additional few days for the shipment.

At Kaiwaka Clothing we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not happy with your order, please review our Returns and Credit Policy below. Please note we do have a free repair service, for items that fall outside of the 30 day return.

Process for Returning Items

To return an item:

  1. Contact our Customer Care team at sales@kaiwakaclothing.com to initiate the return process.
  2. Provide the Kaiwaka Clothing invoice number and reason for the return.
  3. If eligible, we will send you a return authorisation and instructions.
  4. Please ship the item back to us using a trackable shipping method. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to a defect or error on our part.
