Repairs Policy

At Kaiwaka Clothing, we are dedicated to not only providing high-quality products but also promoting sustainability and durability. Our Repairs Policy reflects our commitment to extending the lifespan of your garments and reducing waste. Furthermore, our repair service facilitates our lifetime warranty. This means that if your garment ever fails due to a manufacturing defect, wear and tear or accidental damage by the wearer, even after extended use, we will repair it at our discretion without charge, to extend the life of your Kaiwaka gear.

Our lifetime warranty refers to a product lifetime (when used as intended), which varies between products, due to determining factors such as fabric, construction, age, and how the product is used. A product lifetime is determined at our sole discretion through technical data and repair history information, and it is not standardised. Please read further below on eligibility for our repair service.

Service Authority: Our Kaiwaka repair service is provided at our sole discretion through our in house repair team in New Zealand, or our international contract repair service providers. Our staff reserve the right to determine whether your garments will be repaired, replaced, or declined for service based on our professional assessment.

Eligibility: Please note, not all garments may be eligible for repair. We may recommend replacement if we believe it's in your best interest or if your product has reached the end of its repairable life.

Process for Repairs: Before sending your Kaiwaka gear our way, make sure it’s clean, dry, and as free from dirt and odour as possible. All items must be freshly washed according to the care label, this keeps things safe and hygienic for our repair team. The amount of dirt build up can have a significant effect on the repair eligibility, so please ensure garments are thoroughly washed. Turn pockets inside out when washing, and double-check they’re empty before sending. Any unsanitary gear will be sent back without repair.

Shipping: Customers are responsible for the cost of courier for their garments to our designated repair facility. We cover the return cost of your repaired gear.
Upon receiving your item for repair, our Kaiwaka experts will thoroughly evaluate the damage and decide on the most suitable course of action.

Free Repairs: If we choose to repair your Kaiwaka garment, it will be done free of charge, provided it falls within the scope of our repair policy.

Replacement Consideration: In some cases, if repair is not feasible or cost-effective, we may recommend a replacement Kaiwaka garment or alternative resolution.
